Just Communicate

I was just reading a forum on Agile where people were complaining that Agile is being hijacked. They think people are claiming to be Agile when all they are doing is hacking. I found it interesting because I think everyone misses the point of methodology in general, which is to COMMUNICATE. I have worked on very small projects of 2-3 people that went extremely well because everyone knew what the others were doing and we talked about design decisions and we talked face to face with the business users. I have also been on small projects that were terrible because there was no communication with the business users and the developers didn't get along. These same results have happened on larger projects of 15-20 developers. Some projects we were using RUP and others it was SCRUM. I really don't care what methodology a team uses as long as they understand their choice and realize it is there to help them communicate. Thoughts?

Finally

Well, it has taken a long time, but I have finally joined the blogging world. Even though I have co-authored several books, I did not think I had much to say that people will find interesting. I have come to realize we all have knowledge we can share and it will be interesting to some people and old news to others. I look forward to sharing what knowledge I do have.
